 Large 8ft x 4ft banner. As the veteran’s unit exited Omaha Beach via the Vierville Draw they came under intense German sniper fire. He was ordered to help clear out the buildings, where this banner was found folded on a table.

 The veteran’s D-Day leaflet, given to all American forces on their departure from England on June 6 1944.
 Training manual for his 50-cal machine gun, which would soon see action in the Normandy bocage
 A letter home to his folks, dated August 13 1945. In the final paragraph, he mentions that he is “sending two leaflets” – the first which was given to him “when we left England” and the other “after VE day”.
